Thread: Benefits Joint Info.

Started 1 month ago by munchings-n-crunchings
I hope someone will know the answer. Before I trot to the solicitor's to finally start my divorce proceedings, I thought it would be useful to put together a statement, showing the financial contribution to the marriage. I have no information regarding a joint HB + CTC claim from approx 1994 to 2004/5. Will I be entitled to this information, as I was part of the claim, or would they ...

Thanks for that DMG. I'm ok with paying a fee, if it helps sort out my affairs. I spoke to the council, who said they had a new computer system in 2005, but I was sure they would have prior to that on microfiche (sp?) I've sent in a request by email, so I'm just itching to get things moving. Regards Munchie

They would need to keep records in some form prior to that for audit purposes, so they must have them somewhere! It may be worth having a look on the LA's website for their SAR form. If you ask one of their front line staff for it, don't be surprised if they don't know what you mean. Also, make sure you get a SAR form and not a Freedom of Information form - they are for different things.
