Thread: Baz Luhrmann's Alexander

Baz Luhrmann was also putting together a film about Alexander at the same time. I suspect that someone should have shot Oliver Stone before his crap film got made so that Luhrmann's could go ahead. It couldn't have been worse than Stone's

Judging by what he did with "Australia", and judging that Oliver Stone's version "Alexander Revisited" was a great improvement of the theatrical version, I'd say that Baz Luhrman would have done a bad job of it. Consider the fact that he would have cast Leo di Caprio and Nicole Kidman in it. Leo's an awesome actor, just not right for the role of Alexander. And Nicole Kidman? That explains itself.

Australia was watchable though, this was bad. I so want to see a good movie about Alexander, he's one of my favorite historical figures.

Baz Luhrmann is in need of a good editor.

Ridley freeborn, there does exist a good film on Alexander. It's the three and half hour epic called "Alexander Revisited". It's not perfect, but it's much better than people say it is.

I just watched enough of Luhrmann's Australia to know that his version of Alexander would have been horrible. I love Moulin Rouge but the man has a certain distinct style. And people say Stone's movie was gay! *xB4;xA8;) xB8;.xB7;xB4;xB8;.xB7;*xB4;xA8;) xB8;.xB7;*xA8;) (xB8;.xB7;xB4; (xB8;.xB7;xB4; Director of Chaos, Whimsy & Euphoria
