Thread: Barcelo Palace vs. Sandos Caracol

We are planning a multi-family trip for 10 with age ranges from 7-70. The kids are active and would enjoy swimming pools, tennis, a nice beach and perhaps kids club. Adults are interested in very good food, relaxation, snorkelling and enough peace and quiet to read a book, etc. Any opinions on which of these two resorts would be most suitable ? thanks

As above, no comparison: Barcelo MUCH better than Sandos.

They are no comparative at all - Sandos Caracol is a 3* on a so-so beach and Barcelo Palace is firm 5 * on a beautiful beach. Barcelo complex consist from 5 resorts and Palace is its higher end. The complex is located on a very good beach but Palace section that was just recently added was build on the rocky end but right next to it is Colonial/Tropical parts that are on the very good sandy beach. We have been to both resorts. I would agree the Barcelo without a doubt. The Caracol is fine, but the Barcelo is much nicer I think.
