I'm interested in that setup as well...not sure I like the looks of the scoop (mounted to the truck) and $500+ for an intake seems pretty steep. Not sure if banks stuff really is that good, but tired of their magazine ads bashing everyone elses stuff.

Yeah i dont really like the looks of them eihter.. and I know what you mean with the ads.. But I guess that it is a true COLD air intake.

Have one. Love it! Yea not cheap but nothin on our trucks is. I would do it again in a min. Definitely helps keep the egt's in check! If you do a search there is a very recent thread and lot o pics of some home made scoops. 1 in particular came out great. Topper

Wouldnt $500 towards an intercooler be a better investment? And if you already have a decent after market intercooler would it really be worth it?

i wouldnt buy an intercooler too much money

Topper replied 1 month, 1 week ago
Isn't the purpose of an intercooler to help to cool the charge air. It seems to me that if the air was cooler entering the intercooler that would be a good thing no... 1 doesn't replace the other. Topper

How much cooler? Well seeing that the inrush air is as much as 500 deg cooler depending on the intake and where the air source is I would say alot cooler and oh yea that turbo will live ALOT longer with that cooler air constantly running on those hot fins... Oh yea the fins would be a little cooler then wouldn't they... Topper

if you read on this site as well as others you will see guys are disappointed with aftermarket intercoolers because they dont help all that much. unless you are making huge power, and a lot of boost.
