The book I read that helps out a lot is Happiest Baby on the Block.  I'm not an advocate of Babywise since the AAP has a warning out against it.  When Patrick does not want to nap, I swaddle tightly, "Shhhhhhh" loudly in his ear, and swing or rock him.  It takes a lot of work on my end and a lot of patience, but he does eventually go to sleep (although, there are days he really doesn't sleep ...

All babies are different, I can't imagine my LO not napping...she takes an hour nap every 1 1/2 hours and she's 7 wks. She def. has began fighting sleep, but I just walk her around or put her in a sling and she's out within 2 minutes.

my LO is having the same problem. He gets very tired, but he fights the sleep and becomes very fussy. When he does fall asleep and i put him down, he won't stay sleep for more than 30 minutes. sometimes i have to keep him on my chest just for him to get enough sleep so he won't be fussy. The good thing i can say abput it is that he sleeps at night, only waking to get fed and changed.

When Chloe gets really sleepy during the day you can tell, she gets extremely fussy!  What I do to put her to sleep for a nap is dance with her.  She's out like a light after a few songs!

my lo has been having close to the same problem. he only sleeps for about 15 min. any time during the day. but the plus is he sleeps all night so I am unsure when he really should be sleeping, we have a bouncy ball (exercise ball)and he loves it I sit with him and bounce he falls right asleep. good luck
