Started 1 month ago by Greigster
Hi I keep losing my BT homehub connection to BT fon and openzone. This happens 2 or 3 times a day. I am in the middle of surfing and lose Internet connection then it reconnects to BT fon. I do not subscribe to BTfon and when I go into my network centre and look in manage wireless connections it shows BTfon at the top and BTopenzone second with my homehub in third place.I then delete ...

IF it was actually gifted to you (by that , I mean that BT processed it as such), then upon leaving BT employment the service is supposed to revert to a standard Option3 Broadband and there is no minimum term , so it should be possible to cancel the service or migrate. You are supposed to receive an email about what happens in this circumstance . The problem will be if BT do not ...

Thanks, I'll have a word with my mum about it, she did say something about an e-mail but she's pretty computer illiterate. Thanks for the advice anyway, I'll give it a go. I dont and I dont think anyone else has said so either. But put 4 or 5 like minded users on the same line then that's a different story.

In reply to a post by wwwebber : I dont and I dont think anyone else has said so either. But put 4 or 5 like minded users on the same line then that's a different story. The instinctive reaction is to agree with you. But what calm logical basis has that? None! It isn't a per person charging structure. Mini-cabs in this my area charge by distance and it is no different ...

Hi All, I am currently a BT Business Broadband customer as I run my own business from home. I am interested in getting BT Vision, but I am getting problems trying to order it from BT. I am told I need to have BT Total Broadband as they will not accept BT Business Connections. I was told by customer services to request a MAC code and transfer to BT Total Broadband. I cant do this ...

Maybe there is something special about your particular situation but there is normally no requirement by HMRC that an internet connection has to be designated a "Business" connection by the ISP. All that is required is Vat invoicing. Whether on Home/SOHO or Business there is an identical issue of possible personal use, but I assume you already have that covered. Bob: Demon...

Hi Robert, I was told by BT as I am running a business from home, I would have to use a Business Internet connection. I also like it beacuse of the static IP that I use for accessing my server remotely. From what I can understand, from HMRC as I am a small business I have to show all communication payments as Vatable and invoicable to reclaim the VAT portion. Have spoken to...

Difficult to advise on the best thing to do . It doesn't sound like an ADSL problem as such to me. More like a straight line fault. What connection speed did you have with Sky? You shouldn't have gone to BT anyway, with O2 LLU available at your exchange. But a line fault would go with you, as it clearly isn't the exchange equipment. If you disconnect all the ADSL equipment including filters, and preferably use a...

www.speedtester.bt.com will display the IP profile you have assigned BY BT WHOLESALE. Does that page actually show 5400? The IP Profile follows the sync using a pre-determined pattern and on IPStream there are only three options for fixing it, 500, 1000 and 2000. If on WBC there may be more but 5400 is not one I've seen. NOTE: The issue may be that BT Total has decided to create its OWN IP PROFILE in its part of the network, and is...

Hi Feeney, I'm sorry to hear of the problems you've had whilst trying to move house. I can fully understand your annoyance and I do appreciate the time you have taken chasing this up. Could you drop me an email to btcare@bt.com including your details so that I can get this sorted out for you. Could you also include a link to this thread so that I can refer back to it? I'll look forward to hearing from you.. Robbie

There are also banded profiles - but off the top of my head I don't think 5400 would be a normal sync for those either. -------------------------------------------------------------------- <needs updating>

I wonder why some people get BT calling them loads of times and others don't? when I dumped BT around 2004, I had one call from them about 6 months after and that was it. Even now I am back with BT I think I had 2 calls, one to get me to sign up for BT vision and the other to try and get me to extend my broadband contract. There was a stage when some company on behalf of BT did call me a few times, but they have given up now. But...

In reply to a post by dozey : So I presume the problem is with the internal power connection in the laptop. If so, does this 'part' have a name so I can enquire about it at repair shop. You'll probably find that a new laptop / notebook will be almost as cheap as getting your current old one repaired, even if there are spares available for it. Laptop repair is typically far more expensive than the Desktop...
