Try JBL or Klipsch. They both blow away Bose in Many respects.

You're the type of guy that spent $4,000.00 on your Bose system and now you think you're the ****. For half the price I could build a better sounding, more reliable system. If you bought Bose, you don't appreciate good sound, rather you compriamised on sound for aesthetics. Bose = Buy Other Sound Equipment. They use paper cones with foam surrounds, which will deteriorate within the next 10-12 ...

Your post is most definitely the bottom line in this. A true testimony from a once-Bose fan (not unlike myself, I used to have a pair of 301II's and then switched to B&W...Amazing!). Hopefully other can get this through their thick skulls: "Don't fall into the trap...Bose is full of crap!" BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment CASE CLOSED!

This Bo$e string has been going on for 18 months so far and from time to time someone brings it up. I really enjoyed the lines where you described how your Infinity speakers sounded compared to the Bo$e. John

After listening to and owning many different combinatiions of spekers and amplifiers I recently, decided to get the 901 series VI speakers. I also bought 4 other different speakers Paradigm, and definitive technology. Also got the Powered system by Bang and Olufsun, and Nucleus Reference 3.1 speakers. These spekers(except for the B&O ) were subjected to the power of my new NAD C 372 Amp. I tried ...

http://www.intellexual.net/bose.html That's about all you need to know regarding the Lifestyle and Acoustimass systems. No response past 46Hz (most crappy subs can still hit 35Hz, good ones hit 20Hz) and huge gaps in response from 200Hz to 280Hz, right where James Earl Jones voice would be...response of minus 10dB!!! So male voices come through your bass module, which is why Bose ...

http://www.intellexual.net/bose.html To reiterate the above, the Acoustimass's bass module responds to 46 Hz to 202 Hz at ±2.3 dB, while the satellites respond to 280 Hz to 13.3 KHz at ±10.5 dB. This is, by the way, the only speaker that I have ever seen tested with a ±10.5 db allowance. Still, this leaves a frequency gap between the satellites and bass module of about 80 Hz! That ...

I read many of the negative reviews about bose here also on other forums.Yet i bought a bose 3.2.1 gs III series yesterday after having waited for nearly 8 years to have enuf money for it. I was not impressed with the initial sound and upon increasing the bass and treble, it sounded little better. Still i have not been able to get that satisfying sound that i always expected from bose...

Wow this discussion has gone on for ages. Anyways, I thought I would put my 2-cents in, not that anyone here needs it. In my feeble HT setup, I have an older Yamaha receiver with Energy (left & right) speakers, Infinity center and powered 10" sub, and small Polk rear surround speakers. For comparison, my father-in law and my sister-in-law both own the Bose Lifestyle system. I've ...

Up until yesterday, I loved Bose. I have Lifestyle system from 2000 which had the CD only. Wanting to upgrade to a new media centre that has DVD and CD has left me with a very bad taste. According to Bose, I just can't buy a new media centre and hook up my very expensive (existing) speakers to this. I have to buy new speakers with a new media centre. ***? What am I supposed to do with my old system? Who wants to pay what I paid for what...

anirban747, What kind of expansion options does Bose give? My gripes on the two units I've had experience with is that the Bose receiver has a built-in DVD player, and the DVD player was basically low-end and the receiver didn't give any real options of plugging additional equipment into it. It was a closed system, so to speak. I would never buy any system that had a built-in anything because technology changes so fast that I like...

http://reviews.cnet.com/best-virtual-surround-htibs/?tag=rb_content;contentNav They don't have bose or denon on their list but maybe you can compare. I have a friend who has the denon system and he's very happy with it. It's for a bedroom setup. http://www.crutchfield.com/g_316250/Easy-Three-speaker-Systems.html?search=Denon%20VENDORID033&searchdisplay=Denon

Hello, I've been listening to many speakers the past few years and I must say that I was impressed a few weeks ago when I stumble on a bose. I am not quite sure what they are and I've doing my research as of now, but it sound as good if not better than the Marcus Duevel Planets that I owned at home. BTW, B&O is not that good. Klipsch, for me, is ok, but cannot be compared to Anthony Gallo, Martin Logan or Marcus Duevel......

I have owned and operated the following equipment for about 32 years now. Bose 4401 Preamp, 1801 Power Amplifier, and 901 series VI speakers (Which are the newest 901's). I make it a point to go listen to high-end equipment whenever I can find the time and I have not found anything out there to make me want to buy new equipment. I will take the covers off the preamp and poweramp and clean the contacts every couple of years, but beside...
