Thread: Awd ssr conversion.. parts list/ breakdown

the problems inherent with this type of swap would not consist of problems fuel tank and the ABS unit as over the shelf oem parts for ssr or tbss will do......The "staggered wheel" design will have to go bye bye.....Or if you keep the staggered wheel size a larger size sidewall on the front will have to be used to accommodate the the 19/20 setup..... Imagine how difficult and painful it would ...

good post. As far as the spindles and oil pan on the SSR, they are already set up for the front dif and axles. I've looked into and thought about this since '03, and can see the automatic( though not as fun) , being the easy way out. Now that GM did the Trailblazer SS, Alot of the engineering is done. The Trailblazer SS has the HEAVY DUTY TORSION REAR. Now just need a donor TB, and SSR.

Dont forget about the torsen center diff as well......Its rumored to have the torsen front too.....But I cant verify that......Always forget to check when Im playin with a tbss......

Ok, so which years came with the axle pass thru pans?.....And is that witht he 6.0 ls2 w t56 as well ?????........I was planning on using the tbss awd pan for my twin turbo lsx w t56.......If thats a no go, use the 5.3 pan and switch the oil pump,dipstick tube and windage tray.......Any info will help..... I would see the early 5.3's as they are literally " recycled trailvoys with a few inches...

Corvette pans are rear sump, so no good!

My suggestion would be to buy a 4X4 trailblazer and mount the SSR on it's body
