Thread: Automatic Trans- small wire connection/sensor- Need Help!

So I got the trnasmission back in yesterday with the help of Andrew and Dave K. Gentlemen, thank you very much again! here is where i need the help.... there is a black wire (about 16 guage) that connects to the left or driver side of the transmission. At the end of the black wire is a brass fitting and appears to be a sensor of some sort. Does anyone know what this wire/...

the place where you got the Dextron should also have a hand pump, buy the big bottles of fluid (5qts) you will need about 8 to 9 to fill the system. The part thats has broken is the thermocouple for the trans you may have to order a new sensor to fix it. This part goes into the back side or rear facing fluid line connector that connects to the DS of the transmission and the other end ...

bump- just trying to make sure that I order the right part. Mr. Merlin has I.D.'ed it as a temperature switch PN 928 606 152 00. Cany anyone confirm so I can order this damn thing? thanks!!

I got the PN off of the PET its the only part on there thats says switch. and my guess is, its for the temperature sensor, as it is positioned next to the cooler lines page. Call Roger and see what he has to say

If this is the part, Mrmerlin is correct. It's the oil temp sensor.
