Thread: Autocom 5 pin or 7 pin?

I have an autocom 5 pin unit, but my new LT came with the same unit but with 7 pin leads. I'd quite happily take out the 7 pin unit and replace it with my 5 pin unit as I have all the leads and headsets, unless the 7 pin is better in some way????? Simon

I believe that you can plug 5 pin leads into 7 pin sockets. The extra pins are for more grounds. I also think that Autocom will convert leads for you - it may be worth speaking to them. Regards

Their 7 pins are on sale, mine will be here Firday. I think Top Gear is selling off everything as I belive there will be a new distributor in the US soon maybe

I believe that you can plug 5 pin leads into 7 pin sockets. The extra pins are for more grounds. I also think that Autocom will convert leads for you - it may be worth speaking to them. Regards
