Thread: Audio Guru help.. replaced speakers, sound worse.

I replaced all 4 speakers in my 2000 L and the sound is less then with the stock speakers.. Is it that my new speakers (200 watts) need more power to run them . If I crank volume up speakers sound good, but not at normal levels.. Damn I just can't win.. I was told the speakers were the weak link in the stock system...

First off sorry such a long post. I just got to going and actually cut things short intentionally. A true Audiophile (Not me) Could go on and on about this topic. VERY shortly put: A lot has to do with that Ohm value the speakers are, length & gauge of wire is being used, and what power the speakers are rated to run @ (RMS). All of this needs to be matched up with the output of your head unit for maximum volume & quality of sound out.

I'm now installing the sub amp,, what are the speaker level connections for (they go to the right rear speaker)? I thought the volume was comtrolled by the head unit's sub output..Its a kenwood kac-6014d amp,, Thanks, Ted O.. (I know I'm really dumb)...

...in short go buy some Boston acoustics there like 1000$ for a component set nice amp they sound like the theater clarity...very nice run a few sets in the alpha

It's one or the other...Like already has been mentioned, use the RCA leads from the back or your radio and run the RCA cable to the amps RCA leads making sure to match the left channel output of the radio to the left...

speakers try to PM PROAUDIO on here he owns a local sound shop and knows our trucks like the back of his hand he should be able to help
