Thread: Are Oregon grocery stores required to accept other stores' coupons? - Yahoo! Answers

I have been told by a few sources that this is true but the person checking us out denies this. Does anyone have any information on this? What I don't understand is that all coupons, weather they are straight from the company or printed out with your receipts, all say "manufacturer's coupon". Why would only specific stores accept it just because the store's name is stamped on it. They never say...

its really the stores choice. wal mart accepts competitors but it is there choice. It can be frustrating but its the stores choice.

Your best bet is to go to the service counter first and ask, but, yes, many grocery stores accept competitor coupons. For example, Albertsons will accept competitors coupons from either Safeway or Fred Meyer, both established chains. It gets dicey when you are dealing with individual stores in part because they don't have the ability to track and verify if the coupons are legit.

Lots of stores won't accept any coupons except ones they issue themselves.

its really the stores choice. wal mart accepts competitors but it is there choice. It can be frustrating but its the stores choice.
