I do remember playing a PRS SE at through a valvetronix and it was pretty pleasant sounding clean and overdriven. It wasn't the shit, but it was enjoyable enough.

I'd say a Dumble of some sort

On your budget, keep the MG and keep listening to the complaints. I don't see an alternative for that $$$...

I'd go with a Valvetronix

For 200$, go to a pawn shop or two and see if they have anything worth while. You might find a Line 6 spider, Vypyr, Valvetronix, or even a decent Marshall AVT for around that, all of which are an improvement on the Marshall MG series. You might get lucky and spot something rare too, like a said in a thread a while back, I spotted an all original Marshall bluesbreaker, though beaten up, for around $300! I kick myself everyday for not buying...

Are you playing in a band? I'd save up more money if I were, and/or look in the used market.
