Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by Grand Dizzy
I think it was called Glitter Ball. A very low-budget TV film from the 70s, it was about a little silver marble that was alive (presumably an alien being).
I think it was shown on CBBC in the early 80s.
All I really remember was that it starred Brian Murphy as the bad guy, although theres no mention of it on IMDB.
I really just wondered if anyone else ...
Remember it well. It was made by the Children's Film and Television Foundation in 1977.
It is listed on imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0192075/
My sister and I used to go to a Saturday morning cinema club in the 70s and 80s for kids and they used to show the CFTC films.
Thanks Listentome!
Just nice to know Im not the only one who remembers it!
Brian Murphy (from George & Mildred) isnt listed as appearing in it, but Im certain he was.
Was he?
Yes, OP, I also remember it. The Children's Films were very popular in the 70's.

I vaguely remember some of the others, too. I definitely remember the Friday Film Specials in the late 80s thats where I saw all these films. (I think Im too young to remember cinema clubs, whatever they were.)
Thanks for the ...
Whoa! I just stared watching this it looks like it was shot on film!
I mean, I know it was the Childrens Film Foundation, but I just thought these were cheap and nasty little TV movies. Why would they shoot them on film?
This actually looks a million times more expensive and impressive than I remember! (Usually its the other way round!) Im quite impressed!...

Every Saturday morning at the Hyde Park cinema (used in First Of The Summer Wine, fact fans!). Chico, The Chiffy Kids, CFF, cartoons, they were good times indeed.
I remember Glitterball. My favourite was Sammy's Super T-Shirt though. I also remember one about these kids on a schooltrip and two of them break away from the rest of the group and get kidnapped or something.
