I've been playing Super Smash Bros Brawl for Wii and I noticed they included demos for VC with it. One of them was Star Fox 64. I played it and thought the game looked amazing in 480p mode. Everything looked clean and made me want to buy the game even though i already own the Nintendo 64 version. But then i got further in the level and noticed some severe slowdown. I have it on VC as well, and have been through it 3 times with no slowdown. By the way, There are few games in the entire selection for the VC that I could recommend more. I have had the original of this game forever, but having it so readily available has made me want to play it constantly. When is Nintendo gonna make another as good as this? This game is just pure fun! Heck, just talking...

No, not the Brawl update, Nintendo sends out updates to the Wii, such as putting a clock in the menu, preventing the internet from freezing up, and making usb keyboards compatible with the Wii, but i think that requires and internet connection. Have you been doing those?
And these updates are often shipped out on new titles, which is why a game like Super Mario Galaxy or Super Smash Brothers forces you to install firmware updates if you haven't gone online.
