Thread: Anybody taken the Glucose Tolerance test yet?

It's that time. I know when I go to my OB appointment next Tuesday that they will give me the slip to go take the test. I am pretty sure that I remember one of the nurses saying that it is non fasting now days. I have not taken this test since I was pregnant 6 years ago, then it was fasting. Anybody know if it is non fasting now? I failed the 1 hour last time, took the 3 hour and passed. Hope I don't have to take that again. Anybody...

I have taken the 1hr and the 3hr and they both were fasting from midnight. I go back on the 18th for the 3hr again

Mine is set for Dec. 1 and is non-fasting. I failed the 1-hour last time, and the 3 hour test was a fasting test. I so hope I don't have to go through that again! UG!

I don't think my OB does it until 28wks so I have two more weeks! I can't even remember if I had to fast for them or not... I know you do for the 3hr one but not sure about the 1hr.

I take it in 2 weeks and mine is fasting. I can't eat after midnight the night before and have to drink a drink that they gave me an hour before my appt.

Ive always eaten before my test and always passed my one hour...they never mentioned it being a fasting test..hmmm.. anyway I dont go till Dec. I still have 4 weeks to go till that!

Mine's not until the 30th, but it is also non-fasting, and has been with my other two as well, I just make sure I don't eat a lot of sugar the day before and eat something like eggs for breakfast, and have never had any problems...

I just got back from mine! It was non fasting - the only one I ever had to fast for was the 3 hr.

I took mine a week and a half ago and I just had to fast an hour before I drank the stuff so two hours before they checked my glucose level...sounds like different docs do it differently

They gave me the drink for it at my appointment yesterday. I take it at my next appointment, I'll be almost 28 weeks. I can eat before hand, I just can't "load up on sugar". I've never had to fast for my 1 hr and I've never had to take a 3 hr.
