Thread: Any there AR manufacturers today remaking the

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by chow chow
SP1 version (classic version of M 16A1 )? ALmost all are into M 4s and AR15 A3s with the modern look. Would be nice to get one in same configuration as SP 1 but with a slightly medium gauge barrel , not the orig pencil type . THat would be the one i like to have!

Looks? OK... works for me. I'm sure somebody out there makes or will throw one together for you... God knows you can get damn near anything else in an AR. C

"Stay Classy, San Diego" (Anchor Man, the Legend of Ron Burgandy) I can appreciate trying to get origianal type equipment. I guess the first AR's had green furniture....maybe OD Green. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

CMMG used to have a "KISS" rifle that was similar to the A1 style, but I can't find it on their site anymore. It would be relatively simple to piece one together, but the hardest part would be to find the slickside upper and lower. As said, the ARFcom retro forum would be the place to look for help.

I dont know, yeah I like the looks of the A1 or Sp1, pluc its what I used in Vietnam. It took care of me quite well (or I wouldnt be writing this. But thats not all. I have an SP1 and a A2. My A2 is the White Oak Service rifle version, its highly accurate, to 1000 yards with the heavier bullets, but its heavy. After adding weight to the butt stock to get the balance just in front of the ...

Build one. Building an AR is like putting Lego's together.

You can build old school rifles using older A1 uppers and I have even seen special runs of slabside lowers on AR15.com.

You would need a stripped Colt lower receiver but you could put one together for less than $900. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=58 8175
