Big slot car racer and fan from the various times in my life when there was a Blue King or a Hill Climb to race on.
Some of my best times of my life involve slot cars.
I was a VERY good slot car racer. Only time in my life where I would get into that "ZONE"...where time would slow down and it would be all so simple for me.
Yup, just received one each of those this week!
There is a class in our club racing series in which I can run these!
Wexler, I see you are in Philly. We have a pretty active club, racing on computer race system controlled home tracks (mostly wood routed). We have guys in Aberdeen, York, Harrisburg, New Freedom, Baltimore, West Virginia, Gaithersburg, MD, and a couple tracks down in ...

Might have to pick those two up.
The orange one is a reproduction of this car in Australia:

Not a bad effort....
I helped my nephews set up a Scalextric track. It's fun, though I still haven't found a regular Elise anywhere. Given that Scalextric are British, you'd think they would have a number of Lotus models in lots of colors... nope.
Those Ninco models are cool.

Waiting for the Gold leaf decals coming in from a hobby shop in Australia. Can't wait to see those!

Yep thats the big wooden track ^ I also used to race 1/10 off road electric buggies indoors, that was fun and required more skill. Gets pretty fun when they have transponders and print out your lap times, and you win store credit for the hobby shop. It was a lot of fun until the place closed down. Sounds nerdy but its fun and safe __________________ 06 Exige CO BWRized 94 Miata R White 05 Elise CO, Trim shop interior and other things...SOLD
Aren't slot cars just "Press lever, car goes in track automatically" though? I had one when I was like, 8...it was about as boring as the middle of a NASCAR race. Maybe I was racing them wrong... __________________ "Look, it's Jesus! Jesus is here on our show. This car is supercharged...and your dad gave the world supercharged!" ~Jeremy Clarkson~

I was in seventh heaven when I started reading this thread! I am an "old school" slot racer from the English 60's. My team "Spikes Folly" travelled around UK competing in regional and national events. We had a home track at the local Electrolux factory that was created by club members and had the routed hardboard surface with 6 lanes, including a 30' straight and high speed banked loop. There were...
