Thread: Any ideas for finger foods for a wedding? - Yahoo! Answers
Started 3 months, 2 weeks ago by navywife
My family is making the food for my wedding themselves, they want to know what all I want them to make. I'm going for finger food because there wont be much seating room, so far I have
Veggie tray
Chips and salsa
Cheese and crackers
Toquitos
Pigs and blankets
party meatballs
Any ideas (and the recipe if it's not obvious) for what else I can serve?
I dont really care for your choices so far, they seem a little tacky for a wedding.
You can do classier items at a low price too.
Such as bite-sized sandwiches.
Bruschetta is simple too and cheap its mostly tomatoes and bread. most people will eat it. and its classier as well. recipes are easy to find, i just use tomatoes, parsley, olive oil and good toasted wheat bread.
BAKLAVA!!!!
its really yummy and if you search up a recipe you can make just need nuts, puff pastry, butter and other things you can find at the gocerery store.
mini quiche, fruit trays, stuffed tomatoes, stuffed mushrooms, mixed nuts, meat trays, like cheese crackers and slices of pepperoni, turkey, and ham.
talk about tacky, microwave appetizers from Sams. The fact that Sams was in the sentence was enough for me.
They won't be able to enjoy the ceremony or reception since they will be tied to the kitchen the whole time. I have heard of this being done, contrary to popular belief.
If you must DIY, the frozen section of Costco/Sam's has appetizers that are very filling, very inexpensive and just need to be heated and served, and most people love them. It will be alot easier on them than cooking stuff ...
my mom did all the food for my wedding too and it was great. We had veggies and dip, cracker and cheese plate, pickle and olive tray, cold cuts with buns, taco dip with chips (the kind with the salse, cheese, sour cream and onions, shrimp and cocktail sauce, toss salad, macaroni salad, potato salad, fruit tray, lasagna, fried chicken, deviled eggs, cake and small little deserts. It was great......
Mini muffins and smoothie shots. Fruit kabobs. We had a dessert bar with all kinds of chocolates and stuff like chocolate covered peanuts and m&m's and stuff. O lemon bars are good too. Cucumber sandwiches. Umm idk what else.
I like what you have, except I would also add in:
~ cold cuts with some rolls/buns so that people can make up little sandwiches. Also have out some mayo/mustard if people want to put that on their buns.
OR.....in place of that
~ make up little finger sandwiches of tuna, egg salad, ham salad, etc. These are always a hit.
I also suggest a nice platter of various fruits and some ...
