Thread: Any experience with Allegiant Air?

Started 3 months ago by kansasmom
Should I choose Allegiant, which flies direct, or another airline that makes one stop?I'll be flying from Wichita to Las Vegas in November, and I've never flown on Allegiant before. It is the only airline that offers a non-stop from Wichita to Las Vegas. Do I take it? Or a different airline that connects through Denver or Dallas? Also, Allegiant is more expensive, but not prohibitively ...

I've not had a problem with Allegiant the few times I've flown with them. In my area they're usually the cheapest for thier routes. My grandparents use them often and have never had a problem that I'm aware of. How long would the layover in Denver or Dallas be? What's the price difference? If your layover would only be 45 minutes, well you might not make the connection and if you checked ...

With all of their add on charges and fees sometimes they are no less expensive than some of the other airlines.

We had good experience with Allegiant when I needed to get 3 family members from Florida to WVa on short notice. Price was great (far better that the bigs' bereavement fares) even with junk fees for seat assignment and bag check (the bigs have since adopted this one), flights were on time and as pleasant as on any other metal. One caution, though: if there is a problem and your flight is ...

Kayd, that is my big fear -- the flight being cancelled and then being stuck when I need to get to work the next day. (I've had some amazingly bad flight experiences with flight cancellations and delays, considering how little I've flown compared to many of you.) But...I do always love a nonstop flight. Hmmm...

The flights on Allegiant from my locall airport seem to leave in the evenings. I'm an early morning traveler, get where I want to go, and have more time to enjoy my stay. I'd go with whichever flights have the best times, even with a layover.

Actually the times on Allegiant match what I need perfectly! And the connecting times in Denver, if I do a connection there on a different airline, are 60 minutes or less, which leaves me a little worried. Am I talking myself into going with Allegiant?

I have flown Allegiant once with no problems. We did not pay for extras such as assigned seats ect. nor did we pay to check our bags. We checked in early enough and were able to get our bags in the overhead compartments. The people that did not just had to check their bags at the gate for free and they were stowed down below. The flights both ways were great and we had only a slight 20 min ...

Thanks all who replied. I'm just excited to get to go to Las Vegas...I like going new places, and everyone should see Vegas once, right? I think I'm going to go w/ Allegiant.

We've flown Allegiant from Wisconsin to Las Vegas a couple times; the flights were on time or early and we thought the travel times were perfect. We did pay extra for assigned seats, but only had carry-on luggage. I wouldn't hesitate to fly them again, especially if you're flexible and can fly when the rates are cheapest.
