I'm looking for a cash now! I have had a few emails with one offer that looks good. However I am surprised by the lack of offers! I believe I’m taking a fairly big risk by offering 10k for a website that’s only had an income of £600 a month for the last 12 months.

I appreciate this is a how long is a piece of string type question but I have been asked by an business associate who is thinking of purchasing an affiliate website with monthly earnings of £4000-6000 and wanted a steer on how much to offer. This is a bit outside my area of expertise, does anyone have sort of a guide?

I appreciate your comments Ash and Gadget, and from experience if I was looking for an off line business e.g. retail, then I would ask for last 3yrs of financials and I would make sure the business was stable. I would then offer 2.5x the net profit. As the online market moves so fast and trends can change overnight, then I assumed the value of a AM website would be around 1.5x the net profit based over 12 months earnings. I have not had...

I would'nt say paying roughly 1.5 x the annual income is that big a risk to be honest.

Yeah it has to depend on the nature of the site massively? I have a site that makes a passive income into the £100s. Unless I "urgently" needed money, what's the point in selling it. I just do nothing for a year, or 2 years and I have the money you were going to give me. And in 2 more years of doing nothing I have the same again! This is clearly very different to a traditional business where you have to work 35 hours a...
