Started 1 month, 4 weeks ago by AlexRam
Greetings, New to this forum and am sorry if this topic has already been discussed. I just could not find anything about it. The title says it all. Got a '06 TL and I have been dealing with Ants for the past month or two. Have an idea as far as how they got in the car in the first place but the situation now is they are somewhere in the car, not inside the car and not exactly outside ...

Have you tried contacting an exterminator? They may have seen this before and able to provide quality assistance. Hey, it's worth a shot. Good luck!

bug bomb the car with the windows up. make no guarantees about the plastic, leather, or carpeting though. Not sure if it would cause it to discolor.

I have emailed 3 of them and have not got any response yet. Calling them is next. Thanks.

tnoice, They are outside the car crawling from underneath the plastic linings around the windshield, around the back windshield where it is attached to the car, around the wipers, next to fenders, ...not necessarily inside. Originally when this problem started, I sprayed the back of the engine ( underneath the wipers ) and about a million of them end up showing up inside my car which I ended up ...

Make a circle around your car with Boric acid. It's a powder.

And if that doesn't work, draw a pentagram in the dirt around your car . . . No, that wouldn't work! Good Luck with this problem.

I had an issue with another car a while back... I parked with the front of the car right over an anthole and they climbed up the blastic in front bottom of car and got in... I wiped them away and went on vacation and they were gone when I got back Dont they die out in winter when it is cold (if you live in a climate cold area)?

How about going to one of those do it yourself high pressure car washes.... soak the entire car down heavily with the pre-soak soap, let it sit for a while... high pressure soap the car and pressure rinse it. Make sure you spray all around the windows and trim very well... this should blast/drown/kill them. Its cheap and worth a try..... Im just brainstorming here... good luck.

find someone who has a hefty size tank of CO2. put it in the car with windows closed, open valve to get a slow flow of CO2. let tank run out, this may take a few hours, etc. most things die in a CO2 environment. the tank should slightly pressurize the car so that CO2 gets into panels, etc.
