After chuckling at it a bit, I realized that this is truly a brilliant move. Unlike last time, this time around, Angelos will ensure that the Cuban team is granted refuge in the warehouse immediately after the game. In return, they will all sign contracts with the Orioles. And we've knocked them for not being more aggressive in the international market...

it's great to see him using the baltimore orioles as a tool to further his political agenda. who cares about pesky little things like W/L record when we're talking about world diplomacy. now what was that little bit about about the team being a community trust? oh, i almost forgot we're dealing with a democrat, not to mention "prolific".

Who was Fidel's favorite team when he was growing up? It wasn't the Orioles. As much as I hate the Yankees, maybe they should be the team that goes to Cuba. MLB would love that, their marquee team there. It would make much more news that way.
