Thread: Anderson French Door hardware question

Started 3 months, 4 weeks ago by LIlady
We just had them installed and the handles and lovely plate behind them are polished brass. The hinges are not shiny at all but in the brass color family, with a stretch of the imagination. Does anyone else have these doors? Is that how they always come?

Based on your description, it sounds like the hinges are antique brass rather than bright brass. You should check with the company you bought from and make them show you the two finishes side by side.

My contractor bought and installed them. He said this is how they come but I'm having trouble accepting that. I may have to take a ride to the lumber yard and see if they have one on display.

I think you are smart to check it out.

http://www.andersenwindows.com...io-door-hardware. htm I suspect your contractor goofed and is now trying to slide out of this one. Check the above link. Anderson offers more than one brass finish. It's his responsiblilty to fix the problem unless you specified you wanted "unmatched" hardware

The contractor should be able to order the correct hinge for your door. We replaced a door last year (ours was by ODL) and there was a mix-up with the hinge color. I just missed reviewing the color on the original order. We ordered the new hinges in the correct color and the installer swapped them out for us. Good Luck.
