Thread: And what was foretold has finally come to pass.

I'm calling it right now.
Everybody already knows it, even the fan-boys, deep within their white, plastic hearts. If you look through the threads, nobody has mentioned it because it is a painfully hard subject for some. It's okay. I understand.
The tidal wave of initial popularity has finally come crashing down. The waters are now still. The Wii revolution is over. It has been exposed ...

I called this the first time I played the Wii. It's just a shitty console,
and a shitty concept in general. Nintendo REALLY needs to go back to the
drawing board.

Let's see, at the end of this gaming generation, the Wii will have most likely made profit, while the 360 and PS3 (especially the PS3) will have lost. The Wii Revolution is over, but it looks like they won the war...
Video games altogether are in a shitty state right now , IMO.

I'm still pissed off at how horribly they botched the Virtual Console. I don't understand why Nintendo hasn't put up at least half of their games on the service yet. What are they waiting for? I haven't bought a Virtual Console game since early 2008. That's supposed to be one of the biggest selling points of the console, but it's just horrible. It's like they've given up on it or something.
...

The Wii has very few games I really even care about, so I really don't have a particularly high opinion on it.
Plus that whole motion control thing really sucks IMO.

Doesn't change the facts, Wii has still outsold both the 360 and PS3 COMBINED.
I'm not a fanboy, but the Wii's popularity is hardly over. With the upcoming price-drop, more and more people will flock to buy them and they will sell just as well, if not a little bit less then previous Holiday seasons, this upcoming one.
And hey, if it doesn't sell well, and the PS3 and 360 beat it this ...

Worse for Nintendo, the combined lineup of games coming out for the 360 and PS3 over the next few months and the outlook for the rest of the year is of epic, historical proportions. 2010 will be the year of the gamer, and it aint' gonna be on the Wii.

Quote: It will never happen, because a lot of control schemes (especially deep fighting games or games wit ha lot of menu systems cannot physically be replicated with motion controls- see SF4) will never be able to be that fine-tuned to pull of precise controls that are better than analog. That is impossible to say for sure. You have no idea what technology will be capable of in 20 years and I sincerely doubt that in 2030, people will still...
This thread still lives? People still arguing over this? Wow Well, the compairisons come into play these days cuz people are looking for the "ultimate system". Back in the day it didn't matter because we were just happy to see systems period. In 2009, now that we know what can be done in the game world we wanna see it taken to the next level. So, yeah we want to see the best.
Re: And what was foretold has finally come to pass. http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/30/ni...ardware-sales/ Says Wii sold 550k units http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/01/so...ng-them-money/ Says PS3 sold 440k So the Wii outsold the PS3 last week. Granted, the Wii did sell more last year, way more, but that was during the hype. I'm sure ZhuZhu pets won't sell as much next year as they did this year. __________________ Child's Play...
