After a rain-delayed Mid-South Regional,,, Texarkana,Texas became the 8th and final team to qualify for the Legion World Series, as they beat Enid,Ok 9-3 for the Mid-South championship last night. Texarkana is led by John Stilson, who is a 19th round draft pick of the Twins and has already signed with Texas A&M. He pitched 13+ innings in the 5 day regionals, and also went 9/22 at the plate, ...

post51fan, Rowan finished 3rd, in fact (if one wanted to get tech) they actually finished tied for 3rd with Texarkana, because both clubs were eliminated the same round. Medford,Or clearly finished 2nd because they won more games than Rowan/Tex, and the fact is they were playing in the final game. The tournament format was changed to the current format about 2 years ago. This format does not make a team in the loser's bracket conceivably...

They just made too many mistakes early on in that game and the fact that they nearly were able to tie it in the ninth was amazing considering they were down 12-0. Pretty amazing stuff. CarolinaMan, you are right, you never want it to end. Even though you don't make it to the World Series every year or every 10 years, you...

Absolutely an unreal performance from Litaker!! Also the Rowan bats over the last 5 innings were outstanding. Crucitti is having a monster tourney thus far. They will now be one of the final 4 teams left in the country. What an achievement.

negative I was only three at the time but read all the clippings in the ole scrapbook! No doubt Bravo is familiar with the Garinger crowd of the mid 60's or better yet ask Garry about Uncle Bill :) GO SOUTH ROWAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS It was a GREAT HS class from I believe 63,64-68 hands down proabably the best group of baseball players to come out of the city ever, arguably of course!! Again I think four, five maybe six were drafted in a two...

Really I do not know where to begin in heaping praise on this team. It was a pleasure to watch a team from top to bottom go out and compete. Yes they have alot of good ball players on this team, but it just seemed every night someone else just stepped up for them, they never quit. They played the game the way it is supposed to be played. I appreciated it and will always remember this team on what they accomplished, Guys you may not have won...
