I found Amelia as a character absolutely fascinating, I thought her issues were dealt with well, although clearly at a fictional level. It is important to examine all characters in relation to the tragic hero, in this instance Charlotte. I liked Amelia. She was so ignored but defintly loved. You would think every now and then Charlotte might have said to Sean why don't you and Amelia do something---or you watch Willow so I can do so and so with Amelia. How hard could it have been?

What I like about this book and (many of Picoults other stories) is that there is always one more "victim" In this particular story although Willow is the main victim, the one in the middle of all the issues as it is her illness that she suffers but also the family are all victims in their own way. Amelia, is no exception but her problems are on a much deeper level, she's got use to coming ...

I felt bad for Amelia because she was just living her life with her parents and then willow was born. I dont feel bad for her because her sister had OI i feel bad because she was just forgotten. She was like a marker that was halfway out of ink. No one wants to get rid of it since it still works, but no one wants to use it.
