Tinkerbell, thanks for your assistance....after some more "tinkering", I was able to get a Word document, and voila!, it works. Don't know why, but it works.

Yes, that is true. I thought of the case with the world map, but I recall that the Akhetaten world map is standard, as he taught us how to work with it. I do have one thought: are the default world maps in your world map folder? By default, this is the folder C:\Program Files\Tilted Mill\Children of the Nile\data\Graphics\world level\map. Thanks If I play it again I will be in hard mode and will have the army ready for those darn raiders. My problem was that my city was large and out of villagers when all of a sudden I needed all those extra troops. was soo much fun!

Jimaaten & Yahya I've checked the maps and it's all ok there.. so probably for some reason my game won't update.. well, guess I need to keep trying. Perhaps I'll manage to fix it somehow... Thanks for the tips!
