" " You can't save all of them, and I know I wouldn't have adopted him. Why ...
I don't think a dog should be put down for being food aggressive. Then again, I had an attack German Shepard. Bit so many people and dogs but he loved his family more than anything. Probably was the best dog I have ever had..I was only seven when I had him too.

The best option is to put it down unless someone is willing to fund it.

Also, there are ways around it. If its placed in the RIGHT home (NO kids, NO other dogs/pets), its 100% manageable, especially if that's their only aggressive tendency. Put the dog on one side of a room or a door, put said food in a bowl,...

a lot of shelters base food aggression euthanasia on the breed of dog, which is pathetic. food aggression does not need a hired trainer to deal with. it is brought on for a reason and is easily taken care of.
