I had never liked Agassi in his playing days......early in his playing days. BUt later when he showed the maturity and humility as a player, I was more tolerant of him. I chose not to criticize Agassi when he was so "open" about his drug use and the subsequent behaviour, because I knew that it fit in with where he was mentally and emotionally in his life at that time. Watching him become so ...
Watching him become so emotional when Katie Couric let him know exactly what Martina N had said about him, cemented my decision not to be critical of him. When people are in pain, it is difficult to predict which route they will go. He admitted he hated himself at that time, and only people who hate themselves would seek to do harm to themselves. Why be critical!! He, like anyone in pain...
Yea, I just saw it. I'm still baffled at the fact that he lied and how the ATP tried to cover it. It's unreal and I'll forever lose respect for Andre. I'm amazed that so many people want to make excuses for him. Navratilova's comment was spot on.
"how the ATP tried to cover it."_________________What proof do you have that the ATP tried to cover it, nadals ? Why are we just now finding out about this only because of Andre's "confession?" Furthermore, you have no room to defend his taking meth when you bash Hingis nonstop for taking another illegal substance.

He would have recieved a 3 month suspension.....probably loss out on some endorsements....and what? If no one lied....then there ...

However, Nadals, I could not agree more with your post...
"Why are we just now finding out about this only because of Andre's "confession?" Because he wrote and published his memoirs book. In any event you have NO proof of your allegation that the ATP tried to cover it. It's also poor English, since it wasn't something that was discovered by somebody as having been a fact "covered" by the ATP. Shame on you for speculating, and we all know why;-D
nadals....what if he had he not lied, what would you have said then? He would have recieved a 3 month suspension.....probably loss out on some endorsements....and what? If no one lied....then there would have been no need to drug test in the first place. And again, it was not a "lie" in the act of cheating. It was not a performance enhancement. Yes......unreal of the ATP. This is ...
Wow, selective acceptance of cheating. Nice. Who cares that he did drugs? What is disturbing is that he did a drug that was on the banned substance list and was given a pass by the ATP with the lamest of reasons. He did it for the better part of a year, so there was only one test given that year?

Evert verbally attacked Serena in writing and various commentators went after Serena for not being "dedicated" enough. If Serena had used meth? She'd have been banned for life...something that some people would like to see happen to her right now. Agassi had the gall to call Serena despicable, but he wants compassion for his year-long drug use. Yeah, right. Did Andre call Serena "dispicable" after her oncourt...

" Pamela, First of all, they were not PEDs. The proof is in the fact that he did not win anything in 1997. Second of all, he was in a very distressed mode.......... we know this. He could have taken pot which is also a banned substance. Should he be crucified now for...

Nadal, nobody wants to make excuses for him, incidentally the same charge Serena's haters use against anyone trying to put Serena's action in context. Navratilova...
Agassi should have gone to the grave with his revelation. Also he along with Martina, Andy Murray, Carillo, Evert and Oudin are Ree haters. These people envy Ree, her success, slam wins, popularity and any number of other shallow reasons. Some just are racist. I'll exclude Agassi to that end, meaning he isn't racist. Oudin, maybe but now she is primarily petty and angry because she failed in Fed Cup. True the WS are routine...

Money can buy you a image... Agassi may have money problems, he and his wife made some bad real estate deal that went south during the financial crisis, they also had to sell there million dollar home in Marin well below market value.... Not saying it's all about the money, just saying money could be one of the reasons..
