Thread: Adobe Acrobat Professional: Catalog / Index error
Started 1 month ago by jennyrebekah1977
In Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 I have used the Catalog feature to index Adobe PDF documents. It creates an index on my shared drive. When I double click the .pdx file and perform a search it works beautifully. When I move the folder/files to our company intranet and open the .pdx file, the following error message is received: "Search could not load the index (C:\Documents and ...
All I know is to try to search the forum. You will probably have to do that in English since the translation is not going to be done by the search engine and most of the posts here are in English. There may be a French forum, I have not checked. I may play with it at work next week and see if I can find something, but I won't hold my breadth. You might also check the manual (access from the ...
So, can you give me the exact english translation of the message, "Progression de la préparation du contenu", as shown in the english version of Acrobat in order to help me in my research? Thank you very much for your help!
It may depend on the print driver for your printer. Also, I have no idea what the options are in Reader (this is the Acrobat forum, not the Reader forum) and a shrink to fit (usually what you look for) may not be available in Reader.
Thanks Bill. Sorry it took me so long to reply - today was my first chance to play with your suggestions. Unfortunately I still have the error message about 3D not installing correctly. I did several updates to Acrobat 8, getting up to 8.1.6. Then I found an update for Acrobat 9 for VISTA 64 bit (which is what I have) so I tried that too. Still no luck getting rid of the error message....
I keep getting adobe updater reminders so I try to install and then it says it fails. I tried to uninstall adobe reader 9.1.2 but it fails trying to repair fails. ??? I can still read pdfs fine. But I received a locked PDF that I tried to open and it said that I needed to have a program associated with it ??? I know the file opens on my hubands PC - but not on mine. What's going on?...
Thanks. I am unaware of either of the two options you suggest in the case of externally generated pdf documents, and I could not find them in Acrobat 8 or Reader 9.
I have tried for the last week to install Acrobat trial and it will not install. As soon as it get's to a certain point, this error stops it and the error says nothing. I've asked some computer techs and they said it is something with this Nosso thing, but didn't exactly say what it is or what to do with it. I tried to contact Adobe, but I can't even get through the fields on the form ...
Is it possible to extract a few pages of the document, like those you have shown but to maybe page 10? If so, we might be able to play with it and see what is happening. It appears that the display is for 2 pages side by side, but actually each page is a separate entity in the PDF and you are just seeing a display option. You might check the printer properites to see if there is a separate multi-up there and possibly some options. ...
There was a bug in the old activation system. It was trigger by many things. There was a downloadable fix from Adobe but it required a call to Adobe since along with the fix you needed to reset the activation counter. You have to get the software from the Activation help line. You also have to find someone around long enough to know about the issue. Call them up and if they cannot help, ask to be to a supervisor.
Sorry, I tried to generate the script from the batch pocess. The correctted code and a woring file: var field = this.getField("PrintField"); // get the date object var oDate = new Date(); // format the date var cDate = util.printd('mmm d, yyyy', oDate) // set the field value field.value = "THIS DOCUMENT WAS PRINTED ON " + cDate; Attachments: Performance Appraisal 12-11-09_Rev.pdf (315.4 K)
Hi Sam_Ham, Unfortunately, at this time, there is no "automated process" for delivery of accessible PDFs. Even if you use NetCentric's "PAWS" add-in for Word or their CommonLook plug-in for Acrobat Professional a knowledgeable "warm body" is required to "bring it home". Do note that "tagging" a PDF does *not* make the PDF accessible. It is a required step; the first of several...
Make an action for save as pdf. After export, open one pdf in Acrobat and insert all the pdfs by select all option. then save as new multiple pages pdf.
HOW can Adobe be so useless. Using Adobe Acrobat... HOW can Adobe be so useless. Using Adobe Acrobat Professional, Ctrl+Z to undo, does just that; it undoes. Except for the steps is doesn't.
