Thread: Added a Van R to my Prophet....

Hello. I recently added a Van R to my Prophet. I originally bought it with a 650lb spring, which I quickly realized wasn't going to work. I was able to bottom out the shock from just bouncing around the street. I'm 6'3 225lbs. I upgraded to an 800lb spring and come within 1/2 inch from bottoming this one out. I set the sag by turning the locking washer 2.5 times from the time it first touches...

That doesn't sound right to me... I had a gemini that was set up with the Van R, and ran the 750 lb spring. I found it fairly stiff, and I was 260lbs at the time. You might want to get your shop to check it out.

Yeah, I'll have to get it looked at. Maybe the piston is hosed. I also noticed another issue. When I switch over to the free-ride slot, the bottom ring of the van r that holds the spring just sits against the frame. **** man, are these frames made to handle coil overs?
