*ahem* both of you have updated with the microsoft windows update version of the drivers, you need to go to the ATi website and download THEIR version of the drivers. What are the cards in question? The drivers may need patching for some mobile graphics cards and I will be happy to help.

Vista Radeon laptop driver modding tool Here makes the driver compatible with the mobility radeon cards under vista. Just a thought... don't go for the mobility radeon driver, go for the radeon driver.
