I go in to the specialist in about an hour so when he sees it, he should be able to determine if it should be done sooner than June! I think it might be best to try to open and drain the tooth if someone can get a chance. If the swelling is that severe sometimes incising and draining the swollen area might be a consideration. There is a concern if the infection spreads downwards and affects the neck as what develops in Ludwig's Angina . Try to see someone as soon as possible and make sure the dentist knows how bad the swelling is and it's location.

I'm surprised you have to wait so long. If you are in pain you need to see someone as soon as possible, particularly if the infection is not being helped by the antibiotics. If it is on the inside of your mouth it could spread your salivary glands as they are quite close to that area.
