Hi all o/ I was wondering about the way triple channel works. The fact is that, I know how double channel works, and I know how triple channel works if you buy kits like "3*2 Go". But what about if I buy 3 kits of, say, "2*2 Go" and put them in every slot of the mobo ? Will it work with triple channel or not ? Knowing these kits are certified for double channel with P55 (if you need an ...

Populating a triple channel mobo with 3 kits of 2x2gb will indeed work. BTW, on Bloomfield and Lynnfield the memory is run off the IMC on the CPU die itself. Here is a diagram for the more technically inclined:

They should be fine, but you need to make sure they are 1.65v or less.

Ok, that's a cool thing And thanks AJW256 for the detail (I really need to forgive the way 775 worked and get to X58 ^^)

Yes technically it will work as the tri channel kits are often made of the same stick sold in couples for P55 mobos. The only difference is the stamp that certifies that they will work.
