Thread: A little help...

Started 1 month ago by purevanilla7
Hi, I'm a first semester college freshman. I'm doing well in all of my classes except bio 1. The highest grade I could possibly get in that class is a C if I get at least A- on my last two exams. Do med schools look at this grade a lot? Should I retake the class? I don't know what to do and I'm freaking out. Thanks

If you do very well in all of your other pre-reqs and take a couple of upper division bio courses, one C isn't going to destroy your chances. Just know that if you get this one C, you will need to get A's in your other science courses to make up for it. Is there a reason you're doing so poorly? Study habits? Or do you not understand the material? A lot of what you see in Bio I will apply in ...

If you end up getting a C in Bio I, and you can get an A in the second Bio class of the series, you're still fine. If you get a D in Bio I, though, you'll have to repeat it.

i actually think that if the highest u can get is only a C, you must have done quite poorly previously, especially since there are still 2 exams remaining. hence i think that it would be better to retake this course in the summer if avaliable, that way you wouldnt be a year behind (because most schools require bioI as prereq for all other science courses) my rational is because u have done...

I agree that it doesn't bode well that you'll suddenly pull off great grades this late in the game. Most US schools are probably past the point where you can drop a course without a W showing up on the transcript. A few Ws on the transcript won't overly hurt you.
