g'day everyone.
Wow what an EXCITING day, almost too exciting for words, really
This is awesome stuff folks, simply awesome, just awesome that is; umm, did I say awesome
We are now down to one regular carer for the week, which is quite a challenge as she can only come Tuesdays to Thursdays, which leaves Mondays and Fridays blank.
Today (Friday) we needed a carer. We ...

Thanks ladies! I am glad I found this place and thank you for being so open with me! I had found the other sleeping baby posts and they don't quite fit my girl.
Kaylee is currently getting OT, Speech Therapy (to help join her syllables together - she has a great vocabulary, just atypical rate of speech), Chiropractor, and Cranial Sacral Therapy.
She is unballanced, has shaky hands ...

What a PAIN in the REAR test!! I sure hope we get some feedback from this after all the trouble we went through. Little sleep, taping down leads, re-wrapping things. This was irritating! And my son was entirely fed up with the entire process by the time it was over!
We had our MRI with epilepsy protocol - whatever that is - yesterday, so now we wait for the results. We were told we wouldn't ...
Jenna,
First congratulations on your beautiful baby!
We went thru the same thing with Rachel when she was about 6 weeks old. She ran a fever for several days (I don't remember the exact temp) and we were admitted to hospital for several days because of her age while they did cultures etc. I breastfed. Breastfeeding helps the immune system become stronger and fight off illness but ...

Overall Riley has had a better day, tomorrow we get to increase her Banzel and decrease the Felbatol. So Lacy I am going to take your advice and try to be patient, like Dr.N said- its just so hard. She had a great school day we wrote her name all over the shower with shaving cream and soap paint, took a walk then a nap
Barb- If it were easier, I wouldn't be who I am. I am who I...
How in shock were they when you said no to the IEP?
I have had the "please don't show up" conversation, but it isn't policy and no one backed up the teacher when she said it.
I didn't say not to the IEP, we actually signed it. Its done, I told them from the start that I wasn't making a decision until AFTER the IEP was written again and listed all the reasons. I really had held on to the hope that they would place her in the seperate school (Lacy, here is where IEP's get ugly) but her IQ mandates her placement in the regular school self contained classroom. What they ...

My mom always did say I was stubborn I guess it turned out to be a good quality to have.
((((((Denae)))))),
It's amazing, isn't it...when you look back at the way that you were raised and see that you were given EXACTLY what you need (the skills) to cope with the life that you were gonna have ... My Dad was so strict and he was a ...
Barb, tomorrow we are doing the kitchen floors
I think that Ri's full name "Heather Riley Carlton" written three times should about cover it!
I must say my life has definitly prepared me for the last 10 years pretty well, I have drawn from the previous 22 daily since our little red headed Riley arrived and started rocking our world.
i've been thinking of my response. feel unwell today so stuff is coming slow to me... i'm sorry there's been some loss of vision and that Patrick's situation isn't in the clear enough that life feels more stable once again. i hope he's in remission though. I have no suggestions for Rachel but a girl I know comes to mind. She was gradually losing her vision too. not sure why...genetic...night vision goes...
Mary, I have been too. I was thinking about it the other night and I realized that while FB is great, CN is great too. I still haven't been able to wrap my mind around it. Robert and I talked about it a little bit last night and on the way home from her sleep doctor appointment. We are both at a loss and just don't know what to think or do.
I'm in the living room and Carly is in her room. I have the DVD player going for her. She is not trying to destroy it and I've been leaving it in her bed with her. The great sound is that she is watching the DVD and laughing. That is so unusual. She doesn't usually find things on the DVD funny. But, today, she is in her room, quiet, by herself, and watching and laughing. That's progress.
You really need to loosen up a bit hon. People aren't judging you nearly as hard as you are judging yourself. Photoshop the pictures. Don't cut out an entire part of your life because of AFO's. Focus on the positive and let go of some of those negative feelings. You'll be a whole lot more comfortable in your own skin.
Hi! Welcome! My daughter recently had a neuropsych eval and around the same time had testing done at school for her 3 yr reeval for her IEP. I was curious how the results would compare....school & neuropsych results were almost exactly the same! (like the IQ tests and stuff like that) We are really happy with our school system though so I suppose it depends what you are working with wherever you live. The school testing was done by her...
That's what I would suggest too....Brain injury. I don't know if you're religious at all, but also thinking of it like "God doesn't make 'damaged goods' has also helped me. When I was your age, I struggled with that, too. So, don't feel alone. I know it doesn't feel like it now, but it will get easier with time. Adults used to tell me that too...and I didn't believe them at the time, but...
Hi everyone, Robin (Wheeliebird) is on Facebook and loving it....totally connected to the world. PM me if you would like to make Robin a friend on FB. Hugs to my CN2 friends, xoDonna
Cool! (Not the vomiting seizure bit <Tom has those occasionally>, but the dog bit.) The little bit I read was that you were to make an effort to pet / praise the dog when they come for a seizure - reinforce that when the dog notices whatever it is he senses, he should run to Riley. And... Sunday I went into the kitchen to make lunch and found Tom convulsing on the kitchen floor. Our dog was about ten feet away sleeping.
