Thread: A FEG PA-63 barrel rifling question....

I own 2 FEG PA-63's.Both of these guns look identical,function the same and are equally accurate.The question is this.When looking down the bore of these guns,one of the two has much sharper rifling than the other.Who here could hazard a guess as to how many more rounds the more worn barrel has through it compared to the other gun? Its a tough question but someone knows I'm sure.Both of these ...

Is it possible that one has the new-style polyoganal rifling and the other has the old style button rifling?

If these are typical, the frames should be marked with a year of manufacture; does the older gun have more wear?

I don't believe that the FEG's ever used a polygonal barrel of any type. I have a few PA63 and/or it's caliber variations such as the 32acp AP-MBP; and they all have traditional rifling. It's not always the most pronounced, but it's definitely traditional rifling. Now one thing to remember is; there are some PA63 that were made specifically for import. These are pretty much new.
