Thread: ADSL Line Attenuation question

Hi there My DSL Line Attenuation and Noise is currently Line Attenuation 62 db 15.5 db Noise Margin 8 db 13 db Is this high ? Should my line be able to sync at 4mb ? At the moment it seems it will only sync at max around 1312 kbps using a netgear DG834

I found this tool, not sure if it's accurate or even applies in SA but you might want to take a look. http://212.23.23.177/ADSL/default.aspx

ill give them a call and see what they can do. that little calculator thing works quite kewl

62 attenuation...384 at best u'll never get a total stable up to 4meg profile with ADSL. dunno what the future holds for 2+ let them check: dp e-side v-side dropdown cable give u new filters test with /without phones/faxes

hehe its funny. with that calculator i put in the details and it comes EXACTLY at what im syncing at atm 992.u say that i shud be getting 384 at best but mine is solid stable at 992. oh wellz all i can do is give telkom some more k@k

sheeesh thats hectic . typical i suppose coming from them. well in that case i will ask them some friendly technical assistance eheh

Try getting a Techie out. The Line Attenuation should atleast be below 55db.. And the SNR above 12....
