Hey everyone, I am currently on ADSL 1 as cant get ADSL 2/2+ where i am. I have applied to have my connection upgraded from a 512K to a 8000K plan with AAPT. I just did a firmware update on my modem and found out the ADSL Line Attenuation & SN Ratios. I am wondering on feedback on these if they are good, great or acceptable and should i still be ok with the 8000K plan. Also i have heard that a ...

What speeds are you currently getting? How far from the exchange are you? Finally check out the ADSL FAQ on here index.cfm?a=wiki your questions will be answered there as it explains waht these variables mean to your connection.

According to this: www.users.on.net/~richar...calculatorv1.xls With a downstream Attenuation of 46db, You should get about 5800kbs Sync on ADSL1, about 6800kbps on ADSL2. It also estimates you're about 3.3KM from your exchange(by phone line length) D

I am on AAPT on a 512K connection. I just ran this test online and this is what it told me Test Results from Oz Broadband Speed Test ----------------------------------­ Test run on 22/01/2008 @ 01:59 PM Mirror: AAPT Data: 9 MB Test Time: 182.78 secs Your line speed is 414 kbps (0.41 Mbps). Your download speed is 52 KB/s (0.05 MB/s).
