For the a/c its prolly a bad condenser, roll down the windows if your cheap, get it checked before you buy a new one just in case as they are not the cheapest things ever. The whining noise could still be your power steering even if it feels fine. Try turning your wheels all the way right and left while in drive to see if it gets worse. Also check your pulleys to see if they are oiled, if not ...

Okay, so my car sounds pretty bad right now. First of all, it has been whining for some reason, it sounds like it is coming from the transmission, but it also whines in neutral when I rev it up...
On top of this, my AC compressor or something related to the AC is making a crappy noise, not exacly doing the crazy loud whine or scream, but its kind of knocking and whining a little. When ...

Im actually thinking about replacing the condenser with a bypass pulley like this:

A new AC unit is $209 and this is only $45, and i never use the AC anyways. If I sell the car, ill just say the AC needs a recharge
Maybe ill grab a used power steering pump from the junk yard to see if that stops ...

hey yeah i have the same two problems with my aurora, i was thinking about getting a bypass pulley but was not convinced it is a good idea, if u do this let me know how it works. _________________ I wanna go fast.

too late i found a new compressor and installed it yesterday, sucked so badly though in the aurora because you have to do everything out the wheel well and I have big hands which sucked ass too and it was very time consuming just trying to get the bolts back on the bottom of the compressor. Gl on the pulley though _________________ I wanna go fast.

Nice, I got the part in the mail today and put it in. It is very cheaply made and i am afraid the casting will break or something. Getting the bolts out of the compressor was hard in the small space, it probably would have been easier to take the front end off. The hardest part was getting the compressor out of the enclosed space it was in after i got it free from the engine.
