Started 3 months, 2 weeks ago by berni_mccoy
An ammendment was just tacked onto the HUD and Transportation funding bill. How is it Repukes can get anything they want done by slipstreaming an ammendment onto any bill but we're stuck fighting about a PO? http://www.cdobs.com/archive/featured/durbin-burri s-vot... Senator Mike Johanns (R-NE) introduced an amendment to the HUD and Transportation ...

A group that worked in the community taken down based on video from some right winged asshats with an agenda. Do we even have evidence besides this (potentially doctored) tape?

Motherfucking chickenshit Democrats.

Edited on Tue Sep-15-09 03:12 AM by EFerrari And I don't see them raping fifteen year old girls, offing them and their families and trying to burn the bodies like our brave boys at Blackwater who get a big fat wad of public funds. In fact, on the list of outfits that get public funds and who actually commit crimes, let alone behave inappropriately, ACORN can't even be in the top 1000....

with the government has had corruption, fraud, and abuses uncovered and fines levied and yet every single fucking corporation continues to get renewed and new contracts. I guess it only matters when it's community organizers, eh? And this was a totally knee-jerk reaction (just like the condemnation of MoveOn.org) with ZERO investigation. It's pitchfork justice and it stinks.

you don't even know what due process is. here's a hint. in terms of funding ACORN, due process is the CONGRESS VOTING. that's the process. ACORN is not "innocent until proven guilty". they do not have the right to subpoena witnesses. this aint a criminal trial. it's at congress' discretion, THAT is the only PROCESS that is DUE ACORN as to the future funding of same. it's black letter law. you don't...

I too was not happy with Paterson's choice although I'm waiting until after election to see what happens. I've seen too much bait and switch to be completely mollified by her current voting streak. However, it was heartening to see her vote against this amendment. Schumer on the other hand continues to disappoint.

The ACORN thing could be removed before it goes to Obama. Hopefully it will be. I'd hate to see ACORN lose funding. First, because of the good they do, but also because I'd hate like HELL to see the ridiculous smear campaign actually work. We can't allow this kind of mudslinging to work. We can't allow bullshit to determine public policy!

Comparing apples an oranges is bad debate. A direct mention is much more damaging.

I really don't think that Limbaugh would be able to compete against, for example, Ed Schultz, given a level playing field.
