Thread: 95th percentile head circumference

hello!iam 28 weeks pregnant and my due is on january27th 2010,i just had an ultrasound for the 28 weks,and the result said that the head of my baby is 95th head percentile.is this normal?bcoz im getting worried about this situation since i had the result of the ultrasound.

I wouldn't worry too much. If the doctor or the ultra sound tech didn't seem worried, then I don't think that there is anything to worry about. The baby could have just gone through a growth spurt. All the precentile thing means is that your baby's head is bigger than 95% of other babies at that stage of development. You could go back in a couple weeks and it could be in like the 73%. My sons head was in 95% too. He was born healthy (9.9lbs 21in) and doing great. he just needed a c-section to be born since his "big head" wouldnt come out any other way haha. (tried for hours!) He's 15 month now and head still measuring 95% so he has to wear bigger hats then kids his age but everything is perfectly fine!

I wouldn't worry too much. If the doctor or the ultra sound tech didn't seem worried, then I don't think that there is anything to worry about. The baby could have just gone through a growth spurt.
