Thread: 863's and OME Torsion Bars

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by 2000UZJ
Over the next few weeks I will be picking up some 863 (3") for the rear and OME Torsion bars as well as performing the N74L shocks. Since my truck is stripped in the back minus tools and hi-lift, it should bring the back end up a tad more than 3". I will try to run a 2.5" lift upfront whereas right now I sit with a 2" lift. The OEM torsion bars are great, but the ARB upfront really brings ...

I want to move from 866s to 863s sometime as well. When I install my Slee skidplate here soon it's gonna be sagging....

The diff drop isn't a driveability fix, it's a CV angle/wear fix. I have the 863's in the back and had the front cranked up to level - maybe 3/4" of threads left on the anchor bolts. Well, due to the nature of the travel of IFS I was getting pretty bad wear on the outsides of the tires, even after alignment. I was also getting a slam as the suspension would hit the bottom of it's travel ...

So would you consider staying with a mild lift and just doing shocks and OME Tbars Cory? I lowered the front a bit so I had as much equal down/droop travel as I could get without making it look stinkbug-ish.

What are you trying to accomplish with going to 863s and OME t-bars? If what you've got is working, why change it up?

atlcruiser replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Why would you change your setup? I think it looks great Nick.

I think I'll be moving to a 315. So while doing shocks and Tbars I think squeezing a bit of height would be nice. Maybe a KM-2 next round, when the BFG's wear out. atlcruiser- i like it, and all that. but as said earlier at your place I think a 35 would be a nice tire size for a short time period. Just to give them a shot. If you find your running boards broken and in peices in the ...

What is the fender lip to center of the hub measurement for the front and rear? Have you done the 1/2" body lift?

Most likely not since I dont like body lifts. I'll try to find a measuring tape and measure for you. The whole ...

Here's mine. I have custom rear drawers in the back and a 4x4Labs bumper. I will be adding dual swing outs this month (if time allows).
