Started 2 years, 5 months ago by mrt1981
Hi folks, I just installed the 7.7 Catalysts and enabled overdrive as I usually do, and fired up Colin McRae DiRT (I was previously using the 7.2's as they were the only one's I could get DiRT to run on). Well if you didn't have this with the previous drivers than you can be sure that the problem is driver related so don't worry about the temps. My advice is reverting back to the 7.2 drivers and just wait for the 7.8. Or you could download ATT and see if it gives you the same temps. Don't always believe ccc, it really sucks

Strange... My temps dropped and my 2900 is @ 49C atm which is a good. I have the 3 heatpipe model of the 2900 from sapphire. @ these temps the fan is silently spinning at 25%... Idle.

Hmm strange, I just gave it another blast and the temps are still a bit higher than usual under load (89) but nowhere near that 106 from earlier... The temp is also dropping after exiting the game as well, so maybe was just a freak occurrence. Will be keeping a close eye on it while gaming from now on tho.

I idle between 63-70c, but once the fan kicks in at 70c it drops back to 63c very quickly.
