I want to be the first person that calls for Ed Stefanski and Eddie Jordan to be fired. They are not going to win a championship. Stefanski is ok but he is not much better than Billy King. The Elton Brand deal says it all. When it comes to GUARANTEED contracts you cant afford to make stupid mistakes. Like I said before they should have sat on the money until a true stud ...

They should have waited until the 2010 free agent class. The NBA shows why the salary cap is terrible. Big market teams like the Sixers and Knicks can't get better for years and years. The Sixers are doomed to be terrrible for the next five years.

Agreed, 100%. I haven't sat through an entire Sixers game since Iverson left. This team is full of overpaid has-been's (Brand) and never will be's (Iguodala). Signing Brand to that ridiculous contract absolutely killed their chances at landing either Wade or LeBron this offseason. The Sixers' best hope to become relevant again, is to wait out these awful contracts (namely Brand and ...

There is NOTHING wrong with the NBA salary cap. All the teams that win championships have the same exact cap and the same rules. The problem is the 76ers execution within the salary cap. It is not the league's job to prevent a GM from being stupid. If the NBA had the same rules as the NFL, Billy King and Ed Stefanski would still make stupid moves just like Matt Millan made stupid...

The salary cap isn't why the sixers are horrible. It's because of Billy kings' horrible moves over the years. Thank god I never rooted for them. I'm a die hard Loyal Bulls. Speaking of the sixers did you hear AI is in trouble again with a team? What else is new with this guy? I've been saying for years he'd never win a title but so many people wouldn't listen to me.

I laughed at both of these signings knowing the sixers screwed themselves. i mean I like Iggy but he's not a #1 or 2 option like the Sixers want him to be. On a very good team he's the 4th or 5th option and expected to play his game of good defense, passing and getting to the hoop for a few dunks here and there.

LeBron, Dwade, Kobe, CP3, and all the rest of today's standout stars should all just create their own team, and AI can coach. Then he can get his little championship he's been wanting Oh So Badly ;)

wildthng88 replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
That would be a horrible team chemisty because AI would want to play and coach. He'd hog minutes from guys like DWade. Notice how much better Team USA was without AI last year and got Gold? It just further proves that the guy is not a team player.

_wfc replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Yea..He's trying to win a championship on his own..and it's not going to happen. All-in-all...Dwade is the best scorer/player in the league. End of story. He is like 5 inches shorter than LeBron and still dunks over guys that are 6'11". They talked about this on Sports Nation yesterday, that if Lebron went to the Heat, whos team would it be? It would 100% be Dwades team.

What a terrible argument. I didn't think I would have to school fellow Phillies' fans on basketball and Iverson, but here goes. Larry Brown did a terrible job coaching the 2004 Olympic team. Notice how they hired Coach K? I guess not. He tried to play an old school, inside out, style through Duncan. They didn't utilize their athleticism. I watched those games. Please don't be one of ...

I think Wade will leave the Heat if they don't do well in the playoffs. I think leBron will be a Knick and I keep hearing people saying Wade could end up on the Bulls. Yes Wade is the better player IMHO. If you asked me if I could start a team which one of those two would I pick and I 100% all the time would pick Wade.

Also in football most of these teams can trade those guys the or take a cap hit and just release the guy.

I can say it is Ed's fault because I knew it was not a good move at the time. Brand was coming off an injury and he is an undersized for his position. He is not a star and this league is about stars. Even if many clueless fans thought it was a good move that is irrelevant. Stefanski is paid to make the right moves and he did not. The other GMs were smart enough not to make the deal weren't they? That is who Ed Stefanski is supposed...

It is in large part the salary cap's fault because only one bad move can completely ruin a franchise. That doesn't happen in football and basketball.

The NBA is nothing but a crapshoot anymore. Either you have money and can afford to sign a Kobe, Lebron, or Wade, or you get lucky with the Draft Lottery and you draft a Kobe, Lebron, or Wade. The NBA needs to join the 21st century and lose the salary cap and lose the Draft Lottery.

You can't say it's ed's fault cause we all thought it was a good move at the time the the sixers are in a tough spot cause there a average team that always finishes between 12- 17 in the draft and there stuck wit brands contract so unless they trade brand or finish bad enough for a 1-7 picks in the draft 2 years in a row get use to seeing a 41-41 basketball team sixers do have a bunch of good soild players iguodala young...
