well, on one hand i am very happy about the hate crimes part now including us on the federal level. but i dont understand what it says about being connected to another bill. also, there is no price when it comes to safety and protection, so it just needs to get the job done.....

Wow, there's 2 bills that are completely unrelated I understand that sometimes there are bills that just will not pass on their own so they need to be essentially hidden and just pushed through with another more important one. I think it's weird and if it wouldn't pass on it's own, then why should we let it by just because it was paired with another issue that more people are in favor of? ...

It makes sense to me that an individual's safety is related to national defense. I don't see any issue at all with the two bills being joined. Less paperwork, more streamlined, gets the job done at a cheaper expense. The hate crime bill NEEDED to be done because unfortunately, people don't do the 'right thing' when left on their own (states either, apparently). If local governments/states ...

I am worried about what we are actually going to accomplish with this money. Seems the situation in Afghanistan keeps getting worse. What do you think of this bill? We obviously have to protect our country and I believe our military deserves to be properly funded.
