My list for XM's original '60s channel has 3194 songs: http://xmfan.com/viewtopic.php?t=85971 But, as we all know, since XM merged with Sirius, the Decades channels have become "Siriusized", which is obviously the opposite of "super-sized." The playlists are much smaller and many songs are played once or twice a day. Some lower-charting songs are still played but most of them are played only ...

Thomps, I heard "Going In Circles" by the Friends Of Distinction (15/1969) on Thursday.
Do we really need to have the Coven retread of "One Tin Soldier" replacing the superior 1969 Original Caste version, which had always been good enough for the pre-merger '60s on 6? Give us Cancon, not witches' brew! Besides, the song's later connection to the motion picture Billy Jack was a ...
Two years ago our oldies station, KRTH, dropped most of the pre-1964 music except for "Shout", "La Bamba", and "Louie Louie." They also added a lot of 1970s-early '80s hits. But KRTH plays no MOR hits, no country hits, and very few instrumentals. Need I continue...or have you already made the connection? Anyway, I just added 21 more songs to the list. Hurry and go look!
So...if XM ...
"It could happen" was also a slogan on the commercials for the Minnesota State Lottery. Their odds of winning appear to be about the same as those for XM's music channels undergoing a programming renaissance.
Thomps - you can add CCR - Lookin' out my back door (2/1970). I have heard this several times lately.
And are you sure about the 1960 Walk don't run by the Ventures?
I usually hear the 64 version.
I also have heard several other Grass Roots hits that you dont have listed, Where Were You When I Wanted You, Things I Should Have Said, Lovin Things, Bella Linda, River Is Wide, I'd Wait A Million Years, Heaven Knows & Temptation Eyes.

I just added The Look Of Love. I'm really surprised they played it. It got only to #71. Oh wait...that's Constant Rain. Sorry, I looked at the wrong song. Let me see how high The Look Of Love got. Oh golly gee, it got to #4. And it hadn't been played for more than a year? Now I is outraged! Who wants to volunteer to compare my list with the charts and see how many top-ten hits haven't been played since the November 2008...

Sirius FM. Two underplayed classics. The horn work in A Brand New Me is the best. On YOUTUBE, I saw a lipsync of the latter recently. Excellent Lulu song.
All the following have been added back into the 60s on 6 playlist (thanks to Lou Simon): It's Too Late- Bobby Goldsboro Bella Linda/River Is Wide- Grass Roots No Matter What Shape- T- Bones Good , Bad & Ugly- Hugo Montenegro How Does That Grab Ya Darlin'- Nancy Sinatra Yellow Balloon - Yellow Balloon Sunshine Girl - Parade I Live For The Sun- Sunrays If I Can Dream -Elvis It's Wonderful - Rascals The Rains Came- Sir...

AZjoe wrote: "Mary, Mary"- Monkees heard too (an LP cut) I remember hearing this one on WDRC-FM back in the early 90's. Great song. On a side note, I had my Tivo nab four hours worth of the Solid Gold Oldies channel from Music Choice. The first song out the gate shocked me since I haven't heard it since before the merger: Paul Revere & The Raiders - Ups and Downs

Chuck Berry had three recordings that hit the TOP 40 in the 1960s, all about the time the British invasion was getting cranked up. An even bigger surprise would be to hear either of his two TOP 40 hits in the 1970s on the '70s channel, both of which are curiously played on the '50s channel every now and then....
A new year and not one change on the 60s on 6. No specialty shows, same old playlist, etc. We are on a road trip and I do try to listen to the channel, but it is not more than 15 minutes at a time. Does the 60s on 6 really need a program director? Nothing ever changes! The channel is just a jukebox churning out the same old songs over and over.
It was really exciting for me during one of the first airings of IT when I heard "Oh Me, Oh My (I'm A Fool For You Baby)" for the first time in over 30 years. Not because of where it charted (I didn't even know that there were charts when it was out) but because I loved it when it was played on the radio. One of the greatest points of the late, lamented IT was that when IT reached a period of time in which you...
