Thread: $50,000 budget - which car and what upgraded version?

Lets say you have a $50,000.00 budget, never owned a muscle car before but have always dreamed of owning such a car. A car that, sitting at a red light in traffic looks just like all of the other cars but ... your baby is ready for the track, be that the 1/4 mile, super speedway or a road track. What would that car be, and what upgraded version (ie Roush or Shelby Mustang) would you get?...
I would definitely go with the Camaro Z--28 V-8- Mustang is getting old and new Challenger I feel is going to be discontinued just like they did to my 5.7 Hemi wagon which I love dearly and the power when i want it. It is a shame Chryslers stupidity stopped it and feels the Avenger and Sebring - which are flops are outright ugly. Use common sense.

I've been looking at all three. Been checking the Mustangs since February, the Challenger since April. Just recently checked out the Camaro. I didn't care for the ride of any of the Mustangs I've test driven: the power wasn't what I expected and the cars felt rough going down the road. The Challenger ride was much better, but the acceleration was so-so. The Camaro rode OK and the engine ...
All great cars. The Challenger gets the most head turns and I feel looks the best of the three. It's the biggest of the three so not necessarily the quickest. The Camaro is a nice car but I'm not sold on the back end of it and it doesn't resemble it's predesessor as much as the Challenger. The Mustang is nice too and the new re-design is slowly growing on me although, like the Camaro, I am ...
Skippy, Seems like you may not want a muscle car after all. You seem to describe wanting a sport sedan. Something with power and comfort. The Mustang, Challenger and Camaro offer good power but not the comfy ride of a sedan.
