I recently removed my torsion key bolts for a lower front end. Now my old shocks are compressed and need to be replaced. My question is, do they make shocks that are like 1 or 2" shorter?
i ordered belltech..spindles,coils,leaf,blocks.. my question is. Should i take out my inner fenders? or will i be ok? (roads in Louisiana are F***ed up)
I've searched the forum but I need to get a clear answer on this. I just ordered 4" drop blocks (w/ shocks) to replace 3" drop blocks. The front is lowered 4" and even though I like the raked looked its too much rake. My question is are the 4" drop blocks safe for every day driving (highways, interstates)? I just read somewhere that they aren't.
i found a pretty good deal on some but i have a v6 i know you can put them in my truck but how is the ride quality and how much will they drop total if i have a v6...???
Im going to lower my 2002 sonoma 4.3 ex. cab. Im thinkin about doing a 4/5 drop. I had a 2000 sonoma dropped 3/5 on 18s and drove it everyday it was fine. My ? is that im not putting 18s on this truck, im rolling on zq8 16x8s on 225/50/16s. Would a 4/5 be ok on those rims/tires combo without notching?
I have a 94 SS and am lookin at doin some kind of drop but I want to do it as a performance upgrade.... like a triangulated 4 link and coilovers... or ladderbars w/ panhard bar and coilovers. I would like to add a rear swaybar as well what do you guys recommend?
finished my belltech 4/5 on my 2nd sonoma....i blacked out the GMC on the center caps and the GMC front emblem as well....what do you all think? oh yea heres my old white sonoma, i just found another picture of it.
Okay, I ordered a 5/6 from AVS and picked it up. I should have looked at the products before I took them home, but I was given 2" blocks. So my question is do I have the 4" or 3" leaf pack then? I always thought it was 3" but given the block size I'm now confused. I sent AVS an E-mail already. the number on the leafs is AS1034 if that helps. I will show pictures of the before and after and ...
Ok guys, been fighting this since about May of this year. Have a 2002 4 door Blazer. Did a 5" drop (so I thought) up front and about 4.5 rear. Front drop spindles, 3" (p/n 4227) Bell Tech springs and Bell Tech drop shocks. Well, something isn't right and I began to notice this while bumming around the forum. I have 245/50-16 tires on all 4 corners. Ground to fender lip numbers are 27" front and ...

Is there anyone out there that has lowered with just the stock keys in the front?
I am looking for about a 2 1/2 to 3 drop in front no more. I have searched the forum for an hour or so and all I can come up with is the key swap side to side method for a 5 or so inch drop. Too far for my taste.
So the question is for someone tha thas actually done it. I don't need to hear ...
I lowered my blazer 5/6 a few months ago. did belltech leaves and 3" angled blocks in the back. my driveshaft rubs on the gas tank x member real bad if i hit hard bumps, give it too much throttle, or put people in the back seat. is there any solution to this other than notching the x member?

I have 2" spindles and an extended cab 2003 4cyl i want to do 5/6 drop.
ive searched, and i can only find them on avs, some on stylintrucks but it says it may only do 2 1/2".
where can i pick up 3" coils, 3" leafs, 3" angled blocks and 4 drop shocks for a low price?
right now it's rolling on mono leaf with 4inch angled blocks at least till i can get out there and bag it when it gets warm here in Missouri!!! nevertheless like stated what size shim will i need from "JTR"? 2 3 or the 4 im not really getting clatter right now.... once in a blue moon ill hear a faint one for only a second.... good thing right now its not my daily driver.... any suggestions...
I just finished my 4/5 drop and when i went to pull out of my garage i heard grinding from under the cab.....I installed the center support bearing spacer and transmission spacer from jtr and now my driveshaft is touching the floor why?
I have a 2001 reg. S10, and wanting to drop it 4/5.
will I have to c-notch the frame, and if I'm running 18x8's
will they tuck nice but not too nice aka scrub like a motha!
thanks.
I've recently bought a 00' 2dr blazer along with some 18'' Irocs. I'm looking to buy 2'' spindles, 3'' coils, zq8 leafs, and 3'' blocks giving it about a 4.5 drop all around. Will I be able to get away without notching my frame whatsoever? I live in Daytona so my roads aren't bad at all and I rarely have people in the back seat. Thanks!
So I bought this kit from spring tech and its 4 front 5 rear... my dad said he read somewhere that you have to notch the frame so it wont hit it and will ride better. Is this true? or do you have to just cut off bump stops?
thanks!
I am looking for a how-to on how to lower a 4x4. I have done a lot of searching and have read a lot, but I have not found a guide or how-to on how to do the torsion bar drop. Does anyone have any information or anything that I can read up on?
I know, most people are going to say lift it. But I love the more aggressive look of a lowered truck. I know it can be done, I especially like dillion_...
I am new to the s10 forums and recently purchased an s10. I am looking to lower it with a 3/4 drop. I found a lowering kit on ebay with 3'' coils and 4'' blocks. The ebay description says that they are for a 2.2l. My s10 is a 4wd, I wanted to ask you guys if they would work on my truck. Thanks in advance.

Before I go into this I know what some people are going to say. Why'd you drop a 4x4? I did it because to me a lowered truck looks better. Anyways onto the topic at hand:
I dropped my 2003 4x4 Ext. Cab Sonoma last week and there has been driveshaft rubbing issues. I used angled blocks. It is rubbing on the cab crossmember right by the driveshaft U-Joint. Since I have a 4x4 I have a transfer ...

I may have an issue , so am trying to be a bit pro-ative here...
The question is is there a formula for how long the triangulated links should be? If all they do is prevent side to side movement, will 15" bars work as well as say 24" bars... The reason I ask is I may have some issue with the exhaust set-upI have and the shorter triangulated bars will afford better placement of the exhaust ...
www.summitracing.com has great prices for all you need, its where im ordereing the rest of my 5/6 before spring
my 4/4 is on a 1st gen so its not as low on a 2nd gen, i have 205/75/14 and i have 2 rub marks on my frame from full lock, my antisway bar was glazed over from tire rub, but then again it wasnt even connected to the control arms...
if your truck has a nice ride now stock summit has drop lower control arms i have the 3" on mine i m not sure if the have a 4" i don't see why they wont though i did the 3" in the front because mine has the good old s10 lean in the front that i haven't got to fix yet
i got a 3/4 drop on my 97, i have 3 inch lowering coils in the front and 4 inch blocks in the back, rides not very smooth, i also got 245/35/20 tires and it rubs BARELY if i turn the wheel full lock so you should be fiine
i think im going to get beltech 2" drop spindles then 2" drop springs and 4" blocks for the rear i dont know what kind of shock i shoud use any suggestions?
Re: 4/5 drop what wheels can i use? You don't go by overall diameter you go from the center of the hub to the top of the tire. Your running 13.6 from the center to the top you can run a 255/35/20 which is 13.5 from the center to the top. This is if you have the correct back spacing on the 20's you get.

Re: 4 inch rear drop All of these trucks can be diferrent. Usually ext. cabs do not need setback plates. The way to know for sure is to do the drop and then check the clearence between the tranny and drivshaft. 3/4" clearence is the suggested amount to allow plenty of room on bumps and dips. The truck must be at "ride height" when measuring. (all weight on suspession). My ext. cab. did not need them but I used them...
